Artist Book, Concertina, called 'Caras de Madera' (Faces in wood)

This book was a finalist of the Libris Art Award in 2020 and was ultimately purchased by 'Artspace Mackay Art gallery' for their collection.

Artist statement: The woodcut technique and the figure have been a constant in my work over my artistic career. This book brings together many of those images, transformed from the original woodcut into a more intimate portrait of the face, using the solar plate technique. A line of text under each image represents my intention and the feeling I tried to capture while making the original woodcut. The book reflects my continuous interest in the face as a key element in expressing emotions, even when unintended, and my use of art to express concern for social issues. The title of the book in Spanish symbolises my South American background, growing up gently but firmly aware of differences in society, sensitive to the person sitting next to me on the bus.

1) Refunds and returns: Please note that this shop does not accept returns or refunds unless the artwork has been damaged in transit.

Damaged work: If damaged, a full refund will be provided once the artwork is returned and inspected. Please contact me to address problems.

2) Shipping:
a. Your artwork will be packed and posted with care. Smaller artworks will be sent flat, but larger items will be posted rolled in a tube. When receiving, please unpack the print and put under some heavy weight (eg. books) for a few days.

I use Australia Post and tracking and signature on delivery.

b. Artworks will be posted within 1-3 days

c. Within Australia orders usually take 3-10 days to arrive

d. International orders can take up to 4 weeks to arrive

e. If your country is not listed, please contact me to receive a quote.
