'Suburban Treasures' (linocut of the Great Bowerbird

This is a hand-pulled original linocut of the Australian Great Bowerbird. This bird inhabits the Northern region of Australia and it can be common in some parts in North Queensland. The male builds a 'bower' to attract the female for mating. The bower is a beautiful and sophisticated structure built using branches and adorned with ornaments of a variety of colours. In this particular species, white, green, silver and red are often the preferred choice. This artwork makes especial reference to the interesting relationship between these birds and humans, since they collect some of our 'garbage' and use it as important decorations for their bower. I like to believe it is a positive example of our effect on animals, a nice exception!

The colour elements are done using the chine colle method.

The print is not matted nor framed. It will be posted carefully rolled inside a wide postal tube.

a. Your artwork will be packed and posted with care. Smaller artworks will be sent flat, but larger items will be posted rolled in a tube. When receiving, please unpack the print and put under some heavy weight (eg. books) for a few days.

I use Australia Post and tracking and signature on delivery.

b. Artworks will be posted within 1-3 days

c. Within Australia orders usually take 3-10 days to arrive

d. International orders can take up to 4 weeks to arrive
